Meanwhile there’s a guy out here 3 sessions deep into a 5 session tattoo for a pixel art Blastoise barely 4 inches across.
Surprised I haven’t seen any other artists use AI for reference creation. Kudos to you for transparency on how this was created, might try this myself.
Artists at the studio I visit are playing with midjourney. A few of them said they really think the industry is about to see a massive shift in how artists mock up work. They’re thinking less time drawing, more time tattooing. These are guys with 20+ years of experience.
Either way, talented person behind the gun on this one.
I used AI to make a mockup of my first tattoo because I had a specific design in mind. My artist made changes that made it fit and flow on my forearm better. I love my tattoo!
I get why some artists don’t like the use of AI, but I happened to find an artist who was willing to work with me and had no problem with the AI mockup.

Regardless of how this image was created. That artist did a banger of a job turning it into a full back piece. Kudos to them.
If artists are gonna be doing this they really need to learn to clean up all the pretty obvious AI shit that makes no sense.
I love it, but man allllll those hands/fingers…..
AI hands, ahh why do those dudes only have 4 fingers
Idc if a fucking donkey made it lol, this is a great tattoo

Fuck AI “art”, it’s theft.
Lord that hurts me
Fuck AI „Art“
everything’s stolen, soulless and just so damn uninspired
“Designed”
You didn’t design shit
“Designed by me using Mid journey AI” lol
“Designed by me using Midjourney AI” is like commissioning an artist to create something and then you saying you made it.
Designed by you…. or by the artists the program scraped? Gross
This is a very cool work of the master
Dude this looks fantastic!
That. Is. AMAZING!!!!!!
I’m confused. I thought using someone else’s design in tattooing was bad, so why is it ok to use an AI that’s ripping off multiple artists?
You didn’t “design” anything. An AI made it for you.
Holy fucking shit, this is wonderful. Congrats bro.
Absolutely perfect
That’s a killer use of AI images. It’s kinda perfectly suited for tattoos. Never thought of it before. Looks dope.
I mean the image might be AI generated but the tattoo is real, right??? It looks awesome
Sick piece 🔥 the artist executing this, did a great job!

Don’t listen to the ai haters. Whether they like it or not it’s not going anywhere and its an amazing tool. This back piece is sick.
This is definitely in the running for best tattoos I’ve ever seen. The deeper you look the more you see and it seems endless. Fuckin sick man
