From this point we got her home for hospice care and I can report that she happily read and sewed all the way to end. It’s almost been a year since her passing and day is her birthday.

My mom once wrote me a beautiful letter when I was in a bad place that said “I know you can get through this because you come from me.” And I got “you come from me” in her handwriting right next to my heart. She had a really rough life but is an excellent mom. She’s pretty great 🩷

I read this one of two ways, either she was telling herself she didn’t have to worry about any other expectations so, good, or she was really bored of reading and sewing, and was complaining about the lack of variety, and she’d rather be reliving her younger days.
